Now, about the bands themselves:
Musical groups and albums:
First of all, Pink Floyd. No need for introduction (I hope). There are many many sites on the web, about Pink-floyd,
so pointing one site is not such an easy task.
Recommanded albums: I'd say, all of them. Or at least: All of the albums from Waters era, but, if you want me
to be more specific: There are ofcourse, those albums like The
wall that anybody knows, as well as Dark side of the moon and
Wish you were here, all very good and very well known. Also recommanded are Atom heart mother, especially due to the mind blowing
opening sequence and Meddle, but above all, if you want to check another of their highest moments, and one of the most innovative
albums of all, try Piper at the gates of dawn, their first album, dominated by Syd Barret, the founder of the band, that left after the first
album, since he could no longer function in the band because of all the drugs he took. This is a really unique album. Psychadelic, sometimes
funny, totally crazy. When I think about this, the title "Psychadelic
songs for distorted-mind kids" would best describe this album.
Resources on the net: There is a huge number of
Pink-floyd related sites on the net. You can
find a good list of those sites at Yahoo - Pink floyd index
Marillion: An excellent group. This group had
two incarnations. The first one is Fish era, dominated by the excellent
vocalist and lyricist, Fish (Real name Derek Dick). In 1988, Fish left
the band. I don't know much about the post-Fish Marillion, so everything
I'm reffering here only to Fish era Marillion.
Fish created in his albums a melancolic but also beautyful mood. There is
no other band that successfully creates such a mood in such a beautyful
way. This is the kind of music to listen to when you feel down.
Recommanded albums: All of the 4 Fish-era albums are
highly recommanded, but the best is undoubtely Misplaced childhood. A
real "Must have". Also very good is Clutching at straws.

Homepage. Another place to check out is Marillion - Out of
this world
Camel: This mid-70th band created some quiet
enchanted melodies. Their music is not as adventarous as more progressive
groups such as Yes, but they really shine in their mellodic
part. Andy latimer's guitar sound sometimes reminds me of David Guilmour
(Of Pink floyd), and his flute adds a magical touch to the music ...
Recommanded albums: Check out
Moonmadness,
Mirage and The snow goose in the following order. All are
highly recommanded.
